In fact, the mod just kicked off its first season called “Awakening”, which began on November 6th. There are also new endgame challenges, completely new skills, and PvP support.

The team also states that they plan to “take every weak or unusable skill” and tweak it to allow players to make fully-functioning builds around these skills, “opening up all kinds of options that didn’t exist previously”. Project Diablo 2 makes a number of improvements to the original, such as reworking spells and rebalancing runes, skills and items, as well as quality of life improvements.

The mod is completely designed by fans, and looks to offer improvements to the title’s experience as if it never stopped development. And while we’re still holding out hope for Diablo IV (whenever it gets released) to return to D2‘s style of gameplay, fans are still working on mods to improve the original Diablo II, such as Project Diablo 2. Thanks for the info on the PlugY.Blizzard’s iconic Diablo II hit the big 2-0 earlier this year. Won't even start if I change it to DirectDraw. Yes the resolution mod can be tricky depending on your hardware but it works pretty well for me. I was gonna play fallen earth, but I didnt' want to wait an hour or 2 to download the patch before playing so I figured a 20 minute install of D2 and I'd be ripping in no time.ĭidn't feel like paying Hellgate after a while. LOL I just re-installed Diablo II last night. Nice infos dudes, i think ill take a look a these mods, remaining me some old good memories Then there's PlugY it has a shared stash as well, and they're both up 4 odd billion pages in length.Īnd that multi-resolution patch is weird at 1920 by 1200, all sorts of weird lighting tricks going on, as you move through the rogue encampment, which is where I checked it out. The inventory isn't that much bigger, although it is a 50% increase, I've seen a mod called Lodius. PS-don't go into an uberquest area without the proper level or you'll get one hit and never be able to get your body/gold back! Just wanted to share a new experience with an old game. I've been having the best time playing D2 again with my younger brother. Even 1024 x 768 is awesome compared to the old 800 x 600 max. Just don't go above that res though because the game's graphical limitations begin to show.

It runs great (75 FPS avg) at up to 1360 x 768 on my 22 inch monitor. The game is a lot more challenging as well. It has a ton of cool features, most notably a larger stash/inventory (sound familiar?), all new skills with synergies and many new items. I know it's an old game but we need something to pass the time once in a while. Diablo 2 LOD with Median XL mod & Multiple Resolution Patch
